Wheeler County's one and only nano brewery, Tiger Town, will be presenting their 12th Annual Music Fest this June. I will have the country combo (Roger Conley, Aaron Engum and Andy Steele) in tow. Totally free, which gives you a little more $$$ to spend on their unique beer and grub.
Pendleton alt-country festival Jackalope Jamboree will return to the Happy Canyon Arena for a third installment. Headliners include Turnpike Troubadours, Shane Smith & the Saints, and Reckless Kelly. I will be performing with Roger Conley (pedal steel), Aaron Engum (bass), and Andy Steele (snare).
A modified version of the Country Combo (featuring Luke McKern on guitar and Thomas Paul on bass) will be performing as part of Ione's annual 4th of July Celebration. There will be a car show, parade, talent show BBQ, and more. The festivities start at 2pm.
As part of the Oregon East Symphony's annual Chamber Music Festival, I will be performing Steve Reich's 1987 minimalist composition Electric Counterpoint. Electric Counterpoint was commissioned by the Brooklyn Academy of Music's Next Wave Festival for guitarist Pat Metheny. It is the third in a series of pieces by Reich dealing with soloists playing against pre-recorded tapes of themselves. For my performance I will perform against a digital recording of myself produced with Pendleton recording engineer Addison Schulberg.
My first major public performance of 2022 will be at one of the Pacific Northwest's most eclectic music and culture festivals: Treefort. Personal highlights on the lineup are Kim Gordon, William Basinski, and Deerhoof. I will be performing (exact show date & venue TBD) with Roger Conley (pedal steel), Aaron Engum (bass), Andy Steele (snare) and guest Peter Walters, possibly more. Moody western swing.
